Synthèse

This special issue examines anti-woke organising, defined as deliberate resistance to equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) and social justice initiatives within organisations. This phenomenon has emerged across corporate, educational, governmental, and civil society sectors globally, drawing on reactionary and alt-right political movements.

The issue invites multidisciplinary scholarship exploring how anti-woke movements influence organisational norms, policy decisions, leadership, and culture. Contributions should examine the origins and ideologies of anti-woke organising, its legal and economic implications, and manifestations across different geopolitical contexts, using diverse methodological approaches including empirical research, case studies, and comparative analyses.

Particularly encouraged are contributions exploring intersectional dimensions and data-driven discussion pieces examining phenomena from multiple theoretical angles. The special issue aims to contribute to EDI scholarly debates while creating critical space for dialogue about organisational resistance dynamics.
