Synthèse

Geopolitical tensions, trade disputes, and pandemic disruptions have prompted firms and governments to reconsider how they organize their supply chains. Rather than pursuing purely cost-driven global strategies, companies are increasingly adopting regional and localized approaches that balance efficiency with resilience, security, and sustainability. This shift from globalization to regionalization represents a fundamental reconfiguration of logistics and supply chain operations.

The special issue seeks to connect macroeconomic transformations with firm-level operational decisions. It welcomes research on reshoring, nearshoring, supplier diversification, transportation network redesign, inventory positioning, and the application of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in supply chain reconfiguration. The issue aims to develop integrated frameworks for managing supply chains in an increasingly fragmented and regionally differentiated global environment.
