Organizations worldwide face unprecedented challenges from climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, and resource depletion. The concept of planetary boundaries provides a scientific framework for understanding the safe operating space for humanity. This special issue explores how organizations can align their operations, strategies, and governance with these planetary boundaries while maintaining economic viability and social responsibility.
We seek contributions that examine the tensions, opportunities, and innovations emerging as organizations navigate the transition toward sustainable practices. This includes research on how companies can transform their business models, supply chains, and operational processes to operate within environmental limits. We are particularly interested in studies that provide practical insights into organizational change, stakeholder collaboration, and the integration of sustainability into core business strategy.
The special issue welcomes diverse perspectives from management, organizational behavior, sustainability science, economics, and related fields. We encourage empirical studies, conceptual frameworks, case studies, and comparative analyses that advance our understanding of sustainable organizing in a world of planetary constraints.
