Supply chains face escalating disruptions from climate change, geopolitical instability, pandemics, and regulatory pressures, while stakeholders increasingly demand sustainable and ethical practices. Digital technologies such as AI, blockchain, IoT, and advanced analytics are transforming supply chain operations by enhancing visibility and enabling data-driven decision-making that can address both resilience and sustainability goals.
This special issue seeks to explore how digital innovation integrates sustainability and resilience in supply chains while identifying gaps between current research and practice. Contributions should address theoretical and empirical questions about when and how technologies support or constrain environmental and social performance, considering contextual factors like institutional environments and geopolitical dynamics, as well as emerging issues such as circular economy transitions and sovereign artificial intelligence.
