This special issue invites empirical research examining how corporations issue and price debt, and how debt financing conditions influence firms' strategic choices regarding investment, employment, and growth. The issue takes a comprehensive view of the corporate debt market, covering both the initial stages of debt issuance and contract structuring and the subsequent market dynamics that determine pricing and allocation.
The collection seeks manuscripts on corporate bonds, bank loans, and private credit instruments. Research exploring the role of institutional investors in debt markets, the effects of credit market conditions on corporate real decisions, and specialized debt instruments such as green and ESG-labelled bonds are particularly welcome.
