Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice (ETP) is committed to working alongside entrepreneurship scholars to advance transparency, replicability, credibility, and rigor in empirical research. This special issue encourages authors to preregister research plans, submit empirical studies as Registered Reports — papers that receive editorial decisions before empirical results are known — and engage with ETP's contemporary Registered Revision process. ETP is pleased to announce a virtual special issue featuring Registered Reports, supporting its longstanding dedication to methodological innovation.

A growing body of literature spanning multiple disciplines including entrepreneurship explores the importance of credibility and replicability in scientific inquiry and how scientific rigor can be improved. This call for papers reinforces these efforts in entrepreneurship research by specifically advocating for scholars to submit studies as Registered Reports. The Registered Report format has evolved rapidly from a niche innovation to a widely adopted practice. Since the introduction of the Registered Report format in 2013, more than 300 journals have embraced the approach.
