    <p>This special section seeks research that applies optimization and computational methods to medical and biological problems. The initiative recognizes that healthcare complexity and data-rich biological systems require rigorous mathematical and algorithmic approaches to advance treatment and prevention strategies.</p>
    
    <p>Contributions should address theoretical or methodological developments in optimization models and algorithms, including continuous, integer, combinatorial, and stochastic methods, with direct applications to healthcare delivery, disease management, medical imaging, and biological research. The special section welcomes partnerships between operations research and medical communities to solve problems benefiting public health.</p>
