This topical collection examines how digital transformation and service shape contemporary information systems, particularly focusing on value creation across organizational boundaries through digital technologies, platforms, and ecosystems. The collection seeks theoretically grounded research that goes beyond broad claims about digital transformation to instead examine how IT artifacts are designed and applied to enable value co-creation in service contexts.
