Regulatory and health technology assessment bodies increasingly recognize the importance of incorporating patient perspectives when evaluating healthcare products. Patient experience data encompasses patient-reported outcomes, clinical outcome assessments, and patient preference information. However, these data are often inconsistently integrated and evaluated in decision-making processes.

This collection invites submissions exploring how patient experience data, including preferences, symptoms, and health-related quality of life measures, are assessed and utilized in regulatory and health technology assessment contexts. The collection welcomes original research, reviews, and discussion papers addressing recent developments in this field, as well as work on emerging applications such as artificial intelligence and digital health technologies in patient experience research.
