This special issue addresses the rapid integration of AI and generative AI into advertising, which raises urgent questions about transparency, consumer protection, authenticity, and policy. While AI has transformed advertising practices from campaign design to customer interaction, important gaps remain in understanding how AI-enabled advertising operates across media environments and affects consumer welfare, trust, autonomy, and fairness.

The call seeks interdisciplinary research examining opportunities, risks, and responsibilities of AI in interactive advertising. Studies should demonstrate clear connections to responsible AI use, consumer protection, governance, or policy implications, with particular interest in transparency, accountability, and broader societal impact across advertising practices and media contexts.

This special issue addresses how Generation Alpha and Beta, the first generations growing up within datafied, algorithmically curated platform ecosystems, experience commercial digital environments and advertising cultures. Children in these generations navigate seamlessly blurred boundaries between online and offline worlds, where algorithmic recommendations, creator content, and virtual participation increasingly shape their identity formation, consumer practices, and social relationships in ways that fundamentally differ from previous generations.

The issue seeks to move research on child consumers from the periphery to center stage by examining how commercial platforms construct, represent, and govern childhood while recognizing children as active social agents. It welcomes interdisciplinary perspectives that explore the theoretical, empirical, and methodological dimensions of children's participation in platformized consumer culture, moving beyond traditional vulnerability-versus-empowerment binaries toward more nuanced understandings of children's lived experiences within commercial digital infrastructures.

The rapidly evolving landscape of home robotics presents new opportunities for advertising and marketing. With advances in physical AI making robots more capable of interacting in everyday environments, and demographic shifts creating increased demand for in-home robotics, major technology companies are now commercializing robots for caregiving and other household functions. These robots offer a novel channel for brand engagement, as human-robot interactions can foster emotional connections that position robots as both companions and marketing agents.

This special issue seeks high-quality research examining the intersection of robotics, marketing, and advertising. The journal invites contributions exploring how consumers engage with robotic agents, how these interactions affect brand perception and consumer behavior, and how marketing strategies can effectively leverage robotic technologies. Research employing diverse methodologies and addressing topics ranging from human-robot interaction psychology to ethical and privacy considerations is welcome.

This special issue examines influencer advertising as an evolving interactive system shaped by technological advances, platform algorithms, and changing consumer expectations. The field has shifted from viewing influencers as isolated persuasion sources to understanding them as components within human-machine systems where outcomes emerge from interactions among influencers, platforms, algorithms, and audiences.

The special issue addresses both opportunities and risks in influencer advertising. While new technologies enable brand engagement, influencer advertising also presents boundary conditions and unintended consequences, including concerns about deceptive practices, consumer vulnerability, and well-being impacts, particularly within increasingly AI-mediated ecosystems.

The journal invites original research that theoretically and empirically examines how and when influencer advertising succeeds or fails, with particular emphasis on work integrating contemporary technological contexts and rigorous methodology across consumer behavior, technology innovation, industry development, negative effects, and global trends.
