This special issue examines how agentic AI systems—capable of perceiving context, planning, using tools, and learning with limited supervision—transform entrepreneurship across all venture development stages. Unlike passive technologies, agentic AI acts as an active co-agent in entrepreneurial decision-making.

The call recognizes both opportunities and risks. Agentic AI can enhance opportunity recognition, market analysis, and strategic decisions while reducing information gaps. However, it poses risks including overdependence, algorithmic bias, accountability gaps, and threats to entrepreneurial autonomy and identity.

The special issue welcomes empirical and theoretical studies from emerging and advanced economies exploring when agentic AI enables value creation versus creating risks. It encourages theoretical connections with entrepreneurship theories and methodologically diverse research including experiments, qualitative studies, and computational methods.

Entrepreneurship education must adapt to rapid technological change, as emerging innovations like AI, blockchain, and immersive platforms are fundamentally transforming how entrepreneurs identify opportunities, develop prototypes, and scale businesses. While these technologies offer unprecedented pedagogical potential through simulations and gamified learning, many educational programs continue using traditional, Western-centric approaches that prioritize information delivery over experiential learning.

This special issue addresses the urgent need to critically examine how entrepreneurship education can effectively integrate emerging technologies while remaining responsive to the entrepreneurial realities students will face. The issue is particularly relevant for emerging economies, where digital tools can overcome infrastructure limitations and resource constraints to democratize access to quality entrepreneurship education, though success requires institutional capacity building, thoughtful curriculum design, and supporting policies.
